Description
A refreshing Blueberry Tea Lemonade that’s perfect for warm days, combining the soothing elements of tea with the tangy brightness of lemon and the sweetness of blueberries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 2 black or green tea bags or 1 tablespoon of loose leaf tea
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2–3 tbsp honey (or sugar) adjust to taste
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves, lemon slices, and extra blueberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Steep the tea for 3-5 minutes in boiled water (if using green tea, the water should not be boiling hot). Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
- While the tea is cooling, combine the blueberries, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Gently mash the blueberries with a fork or muddler to release their juices.
- Stir in the honey or sugar into the warm tea until fully dissolved. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.
- Once the tea is cool, add the blueberry-lemon mixture to the tea and stir well to combine.
- Refrigerate the tea until it is thoroughly chilled, or serve immediately over ice if you prefer.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled Blueberry Iced Tea Lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, lemon slices, and extra blueberries if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or sugar.
- For a stronger tea flavor, steep for a longer time, but be cautious with green tea to avoid bitterness.
