Avocado Turkey Burgers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp mayo
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 2-3 tbsp tapioca flour
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 avocado (pitted and sliced)
  • 4 slices pepper-jack cheese (optional)
  • 4 brioche buns (for serving)
  • Your desired hamburger toppings (for serving)

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the turkey, mayo, salt, pepper, chili powder, dried oregano, cumin, and 2 tablespoons of tapioca flour. Mix until just combined and the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place patties in the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Place 2-3 slices of avocado on each patty and top with a slice of pepper jack cheese. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Serve on brioche buns with your favorite toppings!

Notes

These burgers can also be served on top of a salad or wrapped in lettuce.
