Oven Baked Cabbage Recipe with Mustard Sauce

This crispy and easy oven baked cabbage recipe with mustard sauce makes a great side dish for any meal with only about five ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 head green cabbage (large)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon wholegrain mustard
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Parsley (finely chopped for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Line a roasting pan or baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Cut the cabbage into 8 same-size wedges, cutting through the core and stem end.
  4. Arrange cabbage wedges in a single layer on the pan and set aside.
  5. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, and mustard.
  6. Brush the tops of each cabbage wedge with the mixture and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Turn the wedges and brush the other side with the mixture, adding more salt and pepper.
  8. Roast the cabbage wedges for around 20 minutes until browned.
  9. Remove from the oven, turn each wedge, and place back in the oven for 20 minutes until caramelized.
  10. Sprinkle with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with lemon wedges for an additional flavor boost.
